Meijer Handling Solutions, part of the Meijer Group, is benefiting from an investment of more than €5 million in the expansion and modernization of the production site in Sint Jacobiparochie. The investment confirms the group’s long-term confidence in the future and supports continued growth in both regional and international markets.
Within the Meijer Group, Meijer Metal is expanding and modernizing its machinery with the installation of an ultra-modern 24 kW laser cutting system combined with automated sorting. This significantly improves efficiency, quality, and capacity, while supporting further automation and robotics aimed at lights-out production. The facility already operates AGVs, four welding robots, two milling robots, and two bending robots, all capable of running 24/7.
Expansion at Meijer Handling Solutions
For Meijer Handling Solutions B.V., global market leader in forklift attachments and well known for its KOOI® Reachforks, the investment focuses directly on expanding production capacity. The company is adding 300 m² of additional production space and installing robotized deep-drilling machines to meet the increasing global demand for intralogistics and truck-mounted forklift solutions.
“With our new robotic production cell, we will largely automate our advanced deep-drilling process—an area in which Meijer Handling Solutions is unique worldwide,” says Hendrik Meijer, Director. “This improves efficiency, reliability, and ensures consistent product quality.”
In addition, the Meijer Group is implementing smart AI applications that will also benefit Meijer Handling Solutions by streamlining quotation processes, customer service, and production planning.
Investing for the Long Term
As a 100-year-old family business with deep roots in the Bildt region, Meijer Group continues to invest with a long-term vision.
“We think in generations, not quarters,” Meijer adds. “By investing in our people, automation, and production technology, we ensure that Meijer Handling Solutions remains competitive worldwide and an attractive employer.”
