The TERRA group, Austria, has three strategic business sectors: construction machinery, materials handling and the production and development of side loaders and all-terrain loaders. More than 80 people are employed at the Perg production site. We have been mounting KOOI-ReachForks on Jumbo loaders here for more than 20 years. These loaders are used for transporting long goods such as plastic pipes, wood in various forms as well as aluminium and metal profiles. What advantages can KOOI extendable forks offer?
Stefan Hahn, Field Support at Terra Perg, explains: “Sometimes when transporting long goods they are handled by loaders fitted with fork spreaders with 4 or 6 telescopic forks. Optimum synchronisation of the hydraulic fork arms is vitally important. This is a big plus and a decisive advantage of KOOI-reachForks!”
Apart from the standard extendable forks, special models of the KOOI-ReachForks for side loaders are especially in demand of the Terra group. Greater fork capacities of more than 13 tonnes with a horizontal load centre of 600 mm, also in double pairs, are produced here. In the capacity range up to 20 tonnes the forks have a clear advantage over other feeder devices such as a pantograph. The fork cross-section sometimes limits the scope of application of the forks, particularly for the double pair model. But a greater residual capacity is achieved through its lower own weight. The machine is easy to handle, has a more powerful performance and hence is more cost effective. The driver’s view is not obstructed.
When working on uneven ground the fork height adjusters, mounted individually or on both fork arms, ensure optimum tilt compensation for the goods. Peter Ogris, responsible for technical order clarification, appreciates the sophisticated quality of the forks and above all the competence and flexibility of the team at MSE-Forks in solving problems. Modifications at short notice during running production can be integrated for customised models. This is possible through the intensive, constructive collaboration of all parties in the interest of the customer.
