The company specializes in storing, managing, and processing goods in both its warehouse and cross-dock center. Its services range from short-term to long-term storage, fully tailored to the customer’s logistical needs.
At Van der Werff, warehousing means more than just providing square meters. We work on total solutions in which safety, efficiency, and flexibility are key. In order to be able to safely process goods of various sizes, the company is constantly optimizing its internal transport equipment.
In the past, Van der Werff used add-on sleeves to handle non-standard pallet sizes.
In addition, standard forklift forks did not provide sufficient support for long or wide pallets. This led to instability, damage to pallets, and potentially dangerous situations. To address this problem structurally, Van der Werff opted for a solution: hydraulically extendable telescopic forks in combination with a fork positioner.
Thanks to the new telescopic forks, forklift drivers can easily extend the forks to safely pick up longer or wider pallets. In addition, the hydraulically adjustable forks provide extra stability when transporting wide packages, as the KOOI forks can also be moved sideways. This significantly increases safety in the workplace and reduces the risk of damage to goods. When picking up block and Euro pallets, the forks move closer together, and for wider packages, the forks move apart. The reach forks can also be used for loading and unloading trucks, although this is not the primary purpose of this combination.
The new system was supplied by Griptech BV, distributor of the well-known KOOI® products. Due to the success of this solution, Van der Werff has now placed a second order for an identical fork positioner with reach forks for its Waalwijk site. The work here is similar, so the benefits of this investment will also be immediately noticeable there.
