“All together” tour a great succes

At around noon, the time had come. The Meijer gates opened for the 106 or more lorries in which clients with an intellectual disability from Talant were being treated to a drive. The long procession of lorries made for a wonderful sight along the Oudebildtdijk before parking up on the Meijer Group premises. The 300 or more visitors, including lorry drivers, police, firefighters and Talant staff had already set off from Leeuwarden at 10am on their tour through Friesland. Under the musical accompaniment of former CEO Mr Sjoerd Meijer, everyone enjoyed a specially prepared lunch.

After lunch, each visitor was also given the opportunity of visiting our engine museum where even the steam engine was running. All volunteers, Meijer staff, police, firefighters and helpers contributed to this huge success. At around 2 p.m., the visitors were able to continue their tour of Friesland with grins from ear to ear. At Meijer Group, we are extremely proud to have been able to take part in this event. It was an unforgettable day…for all of us.
